Activity-based billing vs per-seat billing
By default, all teams on Krisp are billed per number of seats, i.e. at the start of the billing cycle the billed amount is determined by multiplying the current number of seats by the price per seat. This billing mechanism does not take into account if the given seat is currently actively used or assigned to an email or a device or no. It's easy to understand and to manage, it is available for all platforms, any billing cycle (monthly or yearly) and for all payment methods (credit card or invoice), however, for some situations, it can be difficult to manage. In order to make the management of the seats and billing on a large scale easier, there is activity-based billing.
How activity-based billing works
For activity-based billing, the billing amount is calculated not based on the number of seats, but based on the number of seats that were active during the given month. "Active" means that the given seat used the Krisp noise cancellation for at least 2 hours in the given month. It is only billed on a monthly basis and no yearly billing plan is available for the activity-based billing setup. The billing amount is calculated at the end of the given billing cycle and is based on the number of the seats (email or device) that used Krisp during the billing cycle
