Set up Discord with Krisp

This article explains how you can make noiseless calls using Krisp with Discord on your Mac/Windows device. There are two ways to use Krisp with Discord.

  Important

Make sure to use only one of the setup options. Using both might negatively affect your experience by causing an echo or other issues with your voice.
Set up Discord with Krisp app
  1. Select Krisp Microphone and/or Speaker to work in Discord. For that, go to User Settings >>> Voice & Video >>> Voice Settings and change the Input/Output device to Krisp.

  3. Start your noiseless call.

      Info

The "No call in progress" indicator will be switched to "Used by Discord" when there is an ongoing call.

Recommended setup in Discord

Krisp works best with certain Discord settings turned off to prevent overlapping functionalities.

To benefit the most from Krisp Noise Cancellation, we recommend disabling the following features in  Discord settings: User Settings >>> Voice & Video:

  • Automatically determine input sensitivity
  • Echo Cancellation
  • Noise Suppression

After disabling the Automatically determine input sensitivity option, adjust the input sensitivity based on your microphone properties.

Use the embedded version of Krisp in Discord

For this option, you don't need to have the Krisp app installed on your machine. In Discord, go to User Settings >>> Voice & Video >>> Advanced and enable the Krisp Noise Suppression toggle.

Keep in mind that this way the noise cancellation will only work for the voice going to your microphone.

If for some reason the embedded version of Krisp is missing from your Discord, please go to User Settings >>> Voice & Video >>> Debugging and click on "Reset Voice Settings".
