This article explains how to manually remove Krisp and its remaining files from a Mac device.
When can manual removal be needed?
Manual removal can be needed in these cases:
- You still see Krisp audio and video devices on your machine after uninstalling the app.
- You still see the Krisp icon on the toolbar after uninstalling the app.
- Krisp audio is not working, restarting the app or the CoreAudio driver does not help, and you need to manually uninstall and reinstall the app.
Manually uninstalling Krisp
Important
Removing items from the /Applications and /Library folders requires administrator rights on the Mac. The Terminal command below also prompts for the administrator password.
To manually remove Krisp from a Mac device, follow these steps:
- Quit Krisp.

Remove the following files and folders from the Mac device:
File/folder name File/folder path Krisp application folder (user-level install) ~/Applications/krisp.app/ Krisp application folder (system-level install) /Applications/krisp.app/ Krisp uninstaller folder (user-level install) ~/Applications/Utilities/krisp/ Krisp uninstaller folder (system-level install) /Applications/Utilities/krisp/ Krisp audio driver folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/KrispAudio.driver/ -
Restart the CoreAudio driver to remove the Krisp audio devices from the system. Open Terminal, paste the following command, and press the return key:
sudo launchctl kickstart -kp system/com.apple.audio.coreaudiod
