Who can use this feature?
Plan: Core, Advanced
Managed from: Krisp account dashboard
Meeting Notes templates let you define how your meeting summaries are structured and formatted. You can use Krisp's ready-made starter templates or create your own, and apply them to any meeting transcript to get summaries in the format that works best for you.
Template types
There are two types of templates in Krisp:
- Krisp Templates: Starter templates created by Krisp. These cannot be edited directly, but you can duplicate any Krisp template to create your own copy and customize it.
- My Templates: Templates you create and own. You can create, edit, duplicate, and delete your own templates at any time.
Krisp includes the following starter templates:
| Template | Best for |
|---|---|
| ❇️ Auto | The default template for all meetings: generates key points and action items |
| 📝 Outline | Structured summaries organized by topics discussed |
| 🔄 Project Sync | Project status updates and team check-ins |
| 👥 Weekly Team Meeting | Regular team standups and weekly syncs |
| 💬 1 to 1 | One-on-one conversations between two people |
| 📊 Client Status Update | Client-facing progress reports and status calls |
| 🎓 Training | Training sessions, onboarding calls, and workshops |
| 🎯 Sales Call/Demo | Sales demos and discovery calls |
| 🤝 Hiring | Interviews and candidate evaluation calls |
| 🏢 All Hands | Company-wide or department-wide meetings |
Access templates
Templates can be accessed from two places:
- Settings: Go to Settings in your Krisp dashboard, select AI Note Taker, then open the Templates tab. This is the main place to create and manage all your templates.
- Meeting details page: Use the template selector dropdown directly on a meeting to apply or switch templates when summarizing.
Create a template
- Go to Settings in your Krisp dashboard.
- Select AI Note Taker and open the Templates tab.
- Click Create template.
- In the template editor, set an icon and enter a name for your template.
- Use the editor to define the structure and content of your template.
- Click Save when done.
Template editor
The template editor lets you design your summary layout using rich text formatting and Krisp's smart content blocks.
Formatting options include:
- Standard text formatting (bold, italic, headings, etc.)
- Bullet points and nested lists
- Tables
You can also insert Krisp Blocks — special blocks that instruct Krisp's AI to generate specific types of content when summarizing a meeting:
- Action Items block: Generates a list of tasks and next steps identified from the meeting.
- Key Points block: Generates the most important discussion points from the meeting.
- Outline block: Generates a structured summary of topics covered.
Hint
Adding Krisp Blocks to your template ensures the AI returns results in the structure you define. You can combine them with free text sections to create a fully custom summary layout.
Duplicate a template
To customize a Krisp starter template, duplicate it first:
- Go to Settings > AI Note Taker > Templates.
- Find the template you want to customize and click the options menu.
- Select Duplicate.
- A copy will appear under My Templates, ready to edit.
Info
Krisp Templates cannot be edited directly. Duplicating creates a personal copy that you own and can modify freely.
Apply a template to a meeting
You can apply a template in two ways:
- Set a default template: Go to Settings > AI Note Taker > Templates and set a template as the default. Krisp will use this template to summarize all your meetings automatically.
- Choose a template per meeting: Open a meeting from your Meetings page, and select a template from the template dropdown before or after summarizing.
Regenerate a summary with a different template
If a meeting has already been summarized, you can switch to a different template and regenerate the summary at any time.
- Open the meeting and select a different template from the dropdown.
- Krisp will regenerate the summary using the newly selected template.
Important
Regenerating a summary replaces the existing one and removes any manual edits you have made to the notes. If you switch back to a previously used template, the summary will be regenerated from scratch rather than restoring the earlier version.
Templates and shared meetings
When you share a meeting, the shared version always reflects the latest state of the notes. If you regenerate the summary using a different template, the shared view updates to show the new content.
Info
When a meeting is shared using a personal template, the recipient will see the meeting notes formatted according to that template. However, the template itself will not appear in the recipient's template list and cannot be accessed or reused by them.
