Meeting folders

Who can use this feature?

Managed from: Krisp account dashboard
User type: Admin and User

Folders let you group related meetings, collaborate with teammates, and control who can view or manage each collection of meetings. Folders live in two spaces: Private and Teamspace.

Private and Teamspace

  • Private contains your own folders, folders you have personally shared with someone, and folders others have personally shared with you. Shared folders display a shared icon next to the folder name in the navigation
  • Teamspace contains folders that are visible and accessible to all members of your team. By default, all team members have view access to Teamspace folders.

Both sections are collapsible. Hover over the Private or Teamspace section header and click the chevron to collapse or expand the section, or click the "+" button to create a new folder in that space.

Create a folder

  1. Click the New Folder button, or hover over the Private or Teamspace section header and click "+"

  2. Enter a folder name, or select one of the predefined folder names with icons
  3. Optionally, add a description
  4. To customize the folder icon, select an emoji or an icon
    • If you select an icon, you can also choose its color from the 8 standard colors.
  5. The modal shows which space the folder will be created in. To change it, select the Private or Teamspace option
  6. Click Create.

If you created the folder in Teamspace, Krisp suggests inviting teammates to collaborate: they can add meetings to the folder and view the meetings in it. If no one is invited yet, the folder displays a Private badge, and you are prompted to add your first meeting.

Add meetings to a folder

  Important

You can only add your own meetings to a folder.

From the folder page

  1. Open the folder and click Add meeting
  2. In the modal, select the meetings you want to add. You can search, filter, and sort your meetings the same way as on the Meetings page
    • Your selection is kept while you search: if you select a meeting, search for another one and select it, then clear the search, both meetings remain selected.
  3. Confirm to add the selected meetings to the folder.

Info

When you add a meeting to a folder for the first time, Krisp shows a banner suggesting you invite the teammates you meet with most often. Click Invite to add them to the folder: they will receive an email and an Activity notification. Click X to dismiss the banner.

Drag and drop

From the Meetings page, drag a meeting and drop it onto a folder in the navigation. While dragging, both the section and the folder you are hovering over are highlighted.

From the meeting list

Click the folder action on a meeting in the list to open the folder dropdown and select a folder. If you have more than 7 folders, a search field appears inside the dropdown. You can also create a new folder directly from the dropdown, which opens the Create Folder modal.

Bulk add

Select multiple meetings on the Meetings page, then click Add to folder from the upper left side of the meeting list, in the bulk actions bar and choose a folder from the dropdown.

From the meeting page

On a meeting's individual page, click the folder action to open the folder dropdown. If you have no folders yet, the Create Folder modal opens instead. If the meeting is already in one or more folders, the action shows the folder count; click it to open the dropdown and manage which folders the meeting belongs to.

Info

Meetings added to a folder display the folder name on the meeting list. The folder tag color matches the icon color set for that folder.

Share a folder and manage permissions

  1. Open the folder and click the Share button
  2. In the modal, invite teammates and set their permission level
    • From the same modal, you can also change the folder's access from Private to Teamspace.

Invited members receive an email and an Activity notification. Once the folder is shared, the Private badge in the top left corner of the folder is replaced with the avatars of the members it is shared with.

Folder members can have one of the following permissions:

Permission What it allows
Owner Full control over the folder: add and manage members, add their own meetings, remove their own and others' meetings from the folder, edit folder details, and delete the folder
Can collaborate Add and remove their own meetings, and manage folder members
Can view View the folder and the meetings in it

Info

All folder members get access to the meetings inside the folder as Viewers by default. On a meeting's individual page, the Share modal shows that the meeting is accessible to folder members.

Manage your folders

Hover over a folder in the navigation and click the More button to open the folder menu. The available options depend on your permission level:

Option Available to What it does
Pin / Unpin All members Pins the folder to the top of its section. Pinned folders display a pinned icon in the navigation
Edit Owner Opens the edit modal, where you can change the folder name, icon, and description, change the access level, or delete the folder
Share Owner, Can collaborate Opens the Share folder modal
Copy link Owner, Can collaborate Copies the folder link
Delete Owner Opens a delete confirmation modal
Leave folder Can collaborate, Can view Replaces the Delete option and opens the Leave this folder modal

Pinning and folder display

You can pin as many folders as you want, and all pinned folders stay visible at the top of their section. If a section has no pinned folders, up to 5 folders are shown, followed by the Show all button. Clicking it expands the full list, and the button changes to Show less.

You can also drag and drop folders in the navigation to change their order.

Deleting a folder

When you delete a folder, the meetings you added stay in it by default. If you want to remove your meetings from the folder as well, check the corresponding checkbox and click on the "Remove from the folder" icon.

Folders in search

Folders also appear in search results, along with an icon indicating whether the folder is private or collaborative.

Folder membership and meeting access

  • From a folder's meeting list, you can copy a meeting's link, remove the meeting from the folder, or delete the meeting
  • If you are removed from a folder, the meetings you added remain accessible to the folder members. You can see that a meeting is in the folder from the meeting's individual page and remove it from there if you want
  • If a member is removed from the team, their meetings are removed from folders and are no longer accessible to folder members. Their own folders are deleted if the folder has no other Owner.
