Set up Krisp audio devices as system default

You can set up Krisp audio devices as system default microphone/speaker. This way, all the applications that have access to your microphone/speaker and work with virtual devices will use Krisp when having an active stream.


Set up Krisp Microphone as system default input device

To set up Krisp Microphone as your system default input device go to the System Preferences Sound Input and select Krisp Microphone.

Set up Krisp Speaker as system default output device

It's not possible to set set up Krisp Speaker as the system default device for Mac. The reason behind that is that Krisp keeps human voice and filters anything else. This way, your system sounds would have been considered noise and canceled by Krisp.

 

Control setting Krisp audio devices as system default for device-based team users

Krisp Microphone as a system default input device

As a device-based team admin, you can choose to force Krisp Microphone as a system default device for your team members.

  • If the box is unchecked, the users can choose to set up Krisp Microphone as the system default device or not.
  • If the box is checked, Krisp Microphone will be forced as a system default device for all your team members and they can’t choose any other microphone device as the system default.

Krisp Speaker as a system default output device

For the Krisp Speaker, you will have the following options as a team admin:

  • If the box is unchecked, the users can’t choose Krisp Speaker as the system default device. This is the default state and the box should be checked so the team users can have Krisp Speaker as a system default device.
  • If the box is checked, the admin will have these 2 options:
    • User selectable - allow your team members to select Krisp Speaker as a system default device.
    • Enforce as default - force Krisp Speaker as a system default device for all your team members so they can’t choose any other speaker device as the system default.
