Who can use this feature?
Plan: Call Center AI
Managed from: Admin Portal
This article walks you through the Noise Cancellation settings available in the Admin Portal, so you can configure the right experience for your team.
Getting started with Noise Cancellation
Hint
When agents log in to the Krisp app for the first time, the settings you've pre-configured will be applied automatically. If no pre-configuration is in place, default settings will apply.
Once Noise Cancellation is active for your team, you can manage all settings centrally from the Admin Portal.
Configure Noise Cancellation
Important
After updating settings in the Admin Portal, ask agents to click the Sync button next to their profile badge in the Krisp app to pull the latest configuration. Make sure Krisp isn't in use during an active call while syncing.
To access Noise Cancellation settings:
- Sign in to account.krisp.ai.
- If you have multiple teams, select the relevant team from the left sidebar.
- Go to Team settings >>> Products >>> Noise Cancellation
Enforce Microphone Noise Cancellation
Check Enforce Microphone Noise Cancellation toggle state to be Always ON to keep Noise Cancellation enabled for all agents at all times. When this is enforced, agents cannot turn it off from the Krisp app or widget.
If left unchecked, agents can toggle Noise Cancellation on or off themselves.
Enforce Speaker Noise Cancellation
Check Enforce Speaker Noise Cancellation toggle state to control how incoming noise from the customer's side is handled. Once checked, select one of the following:
- Always ON: Customer Noise Cancellation is enforced for all agents. Agents cannot disable it.
- Always OFF: Customer Noise Cancellation is disabled for all agents and cannot be turned on.
If left unchecked, agents can control customer Noise Cancellation from the Krisp widget.
Customer Noise Cancellation level
Use the slider to set how much noise cancellation is applied to the customer's audio. At Full, all background noise from the customer is removed. Moving toward Low allows some ambient sounds to pass through, which can help agents better understand the customer's environment or situation.
For more information, please check the Customer Noise Cancellation level article.
Enable delay of customer Noise Cancellation
When enabled, Noise Cancellation on the customer's side will not activate immediately when an audio stream begins. Instead, it starts after the selected delay: 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 1 minute.
This prevents Noise Cancellation from interfering with notification sounds that may trigger an audio stream before the actual call starts.
Customer Voice Isolation
Check Enable customer Voice Isolation to filter out secondary voices on the customer's side of the call. This ensures agents only hear the customer's primary voice, even if others are speaking nearby.
Customer Voice Isolation requires additional processing and may increase CPU usage on the agent's device.
Allow users to configure customer Noise Cancellation from the Widget
When enabled, agents see a Noise from customer toggle in the Krisp widget, allowing them to turn customer Noise Cancellation on or off during a call.
Info
This setting only takes effect when customer Noise Cancellation is not enforced (Always ON or Always OFF). If a state is enforced, the widget toggle is not shown.
Noise Cancellation mode
Use Noise Cancellation mode to control how the Noise Cancellation engine runs on agents' devices:
- Auto: Krisp adjusts the Noise Cancellation mode dynamically to give the best experience based on the device's current conditions.
- CPU-optimized: Provides effective Noise Cancellation while reducing CPU and battery usage. Recommended for lower-spec devices.
-
User Choice: Agents can select between Auto and CPU-optimized from their Krisp Settings.
Use CPU optimized customer Noise Cancellation mode
When enabled, Krisp uses Noise Cancellation models optimized specifically for call center environments. These models reduce CPU usage while retaining good quality. This setting applies to customer Noise Cancellation only and does not affect agent Noise Cancellation.
