With Krisp, you can record and transcribe your meetings directly from the Krisp app, so you can stay focused on the conversation instead of taking notes. This guide walks you through recording a meeting with Krisp.

Transcription supports 16 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Hindi, Czech, Korean, Ukrainian, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian.
How to record a meeting
To transcribe your calls, you need to record your calls with Krisp. Make sure to select one of the recording modes in the AI Note Taker section of the Krisp app: Transcribe only, Audio Recording, Screen Recording, or Off.
Hint
When recording multilingual meetings, it is highly advised to use the Audio Recording mode. This way, if the transcript has inaccuracies, you can regenerate it from the recording.
Starting a recording: You can start recording and transcribing either before the meeting begins or during the meeting, directly from the Krisp app.
Managing your recording: You can pause the recording and transcription at any point during the meeting.
Important
It is highly advised to select both Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker in your communication app to make sure the full meeting is captured in your transcript and recording.
You can activate a setting in Krisp to let others know you're recording by going to Settings >>> Privacy & Consent and enabling Notify others you're using Krisp.

Some platforms may block chat messages or audio prompts. Make sure participants are informed some other way as well.
How to screen-record your meetings
With the Screen Recording mode, Krisp captures your screen along with the meeting audio.
Grant screen recording permission on Mac

On Windows, Screen Recording works right away without any additional permissions, since Windows doesn't enforce the same security protocols for screen recording as macOS.
On macOS, apps that record your screen or audio need your explicit permission, due to the privacy and security protocols built into the operating system. Since Krisp captures audio and video during your meetings, it needs this access to work properly.
The first time you use Screen Recording, you'll see a banner asking you to grant Krisp access to record your screen and audio.
- Click Open System Settings.

Once you grant permission, Krisp can capture your screen and audio during meetings, while your privacy stays protected under macOS guidelines.
Start a screen recording

Start your meeting and select the Screen Recording mode in the AI Note Taker section of the Krisp app.

You'll be asked to choose whether to record your entire desktop or a specific application window.
- If you use macOS, grant the screen recording permission, as described in Grant screen recording permission on Mac.
- Start recording. Krisp shows that the recording has started in both the widget and the app.
Hint
You can pause and resume Screen Recording at any time during the meeting using the Pause button in the Krisp app and widget.
Access your screen recordings
After your meeting ends, you can access your recorded video on the My Notes of your Krisp web account. Once processing is complete, reload the page to view your recording.
