Set up Slack with Krisp

This article explains how you can make noiseless calls using Krisp with Slack on your Mac/Windows device. You can also use Krisp when you are in a Slack huddle or recording an audio/video clip in Slack. All you need is a 2-sided configuration.

  1. Go to Slack Preferences >>> Audio & video and change the Microphone/Speaker to Krisp.

  2. Open Krisp and pick the physical microphone and speaker you wish to use and turn on Cancel Noise toggles.

  3. Now you can have noiseless calls, huddles, and audio/video clips.

    The "Not used" indicator will be switched to "Used by Slack" when there is an ongoing call.

 

Select Krisp Microphone/Speaker during calls and huddles

You can also select Krisp Microphone/Speaker during active calls and huddles. For that, start a call or huddle in Slack, go to Video and mic settings >>> change the Microphone/Speaker to Krisp.

You can't change the Microphone/Speaker from Settings during audio/video clips.


Recommended Setup in Slack

To benefit the most from Krisp Noise Cancellation, we recommend disabling the following features from  Slack's audio and video preferences:

  1. Enable automatic gain control
  2. Enable noise suppression
