During a Voice Translation call, Spell plays a word or phrase back one letter at a time, so a detail that is easy to mishear across languages comes across exactly as intended. You highlight part of a translated speech bubble, select Spell, and Krisp reads the highlighted text out letter by letter.
Spell works on both your own translated speech and your customer's, so you can confirm details in either direction.
Important
Spell is controlled by your Admin. If you do not see it during a call, your Admin can turn it on by following the steps from Getting started with Krisp AI Voice Translation as an Admin.
Spell out a word or phrase
While you are on a Voice Translation call:
- In the Live Widget, find the translated speech bubble that contains the word or phrase you want to spell.
- Highlight the word or phrase in the bubble.
- Select Spell from the toolbar that appears above your selection.
- Krisp plays the highlighted text as audio, one letter at a time.
Hint
Use Spell for anything that has to be exact: names, email addresses, order or case numbers, and website addresses. Spelling these out avoids back and forth when a word sounds similar in the other language.
