How Krisp AI Noise Cancellation works

Krisp AI Noise Cancellation runs locally on your device. All audio processing happens on-device, with no audio sent to external servers, ensuring privacy and compliance with security standards.

It covers four distinct capabilities:

• Microphone Noise Cancellation: Removes background noise from your microphone in real time. This includes ambient sounds like traffic, air conditioners, keyboard clicks, and other environmental noise, so other participants only hear your voice clearly.
• Voice Isolation: Filters out background human voices around you, such as colleagues in an open office or people nearby. Only your voice is transmitted to other participants, keeping conversations private and professional.
• Speaker Noise Cancellation: Reduces background noise coming from other participants' side of the call. You only hear their voices clearly, without distracting sounds from their environment.
• Echo Cancellation: Eliminates acoustic echo caused by sound from speakers being picked up by the microphone, and removes room echo caused by sound reflecting off walls and surfaces. Both types are active by default and require no manual setup.

What noises does Krisp cancel?

Krisp Microphone cancels a wide range of background sounds on your side, including:

• Animal and nature sounds
• Street, traffic, and construction noise
• Keyboard and mouse clicks
• Children crying or playing
• Home appliances such as fans, air conditioners, and vacuums
