Optimizing general Team settings for Krisp Voice Translation

In this article, we’ll help you adjust all supporting settings to ensure that Krisp AI Voice Translation is seamlessly integrated into your team’s everyday activities.

Supporting settings for Voice Translation

Audio settings

Krisp AI Voice Translation requires Krisp Microphone and Speaker to be used as the input and output devices, respectively. We recommend enforcing Krisp as the system default, ensuring that agents don’t have to spend time on the setup. To achieve this, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to account.krisp.ai
  2. Go to Team settings >>> Setup >>> System Preferences
  3. Enable Enforce Krisp Microphone as system default and Set Krisp Speaker as system default.

  Info

If you’re using a browser-based calling platform, please keep in mind that you also need to select Krisp Microphone as the default device within the browser itself. Check this article for more details.

Debug logging settings

Debug logging allows Krisp to collect call transcriptions, logs, and other relevant details for up to 7 days. These details are used for troubleshooting purposes and are specific to the Voice Translation tool. To enable debug logging:

  1. Go to Team settings >>> Setup >>> Troubleshooting
  2. Click on the Enable Voice Translation debug logging checkmark.

Agent Voice Isolation settings

Using a headset compatible with Krisp's Voice Isolation ensures that Krisp cancels voices in the background, which can improve the translation quality. You can access these settings by following the steps below:

  1. Open Team settings >>> Go to Setup
  2. Make the necessary adjustments in the Audio Devices section.

Enable transcripts, summaries, and call scoring only in selected apps

Calling Apps lets Admins choose which apps can generate transcripts, summaries, or call scoring data for Voice Translation & Agent Assist. Krisp can still be used in disabled apps, but no outputs are generated for calls in those apps - helping avoid collecting data from unintended/irrelevant instances. To locate the relevant settings, follow the steps below:

  1. From the Team settings, open the Setup section
  2. Enable the Allow only selected apps to access all Krisp features toggle and make the relevant adjustments.

Updating the Custom Vocabulary

Maintaining and updating the Custom Vocabulary will ensure that the terms commonly used during your calls are recognized and properly transcribed before they’re translated.

You can select the industry (Universal, Healthcare, Insurance, Finance, Travel, Retail) to allow the AI Voice Translation recognize specialized terms. Note that industry-specific vocabulary is currently limited to a handful of languages.

To adjust the Custom Vocabulary, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Admin Portal
  2. Go to Team Settings >>> Features >>> Vocabulary
  3. Select the Industry, and create or import Custom Vocabulary items.

  Important

Changes made in the Admin Portal are applied to the app after syncing the account when Voice Translation is not active. If Voice Translation is currently running, turn it off, sync your account, then turn it on again to apply the updated settings.
