General configuration
There are 5 control options in this section. Let’s go into each control option one by one.
1. Check for update
If you uncheck this box, the Check for Update setting will be hidden from the 3-dot menu of the Krisp app for all the team members. Any new updates won’t show up for them and they won’t be able to go to newer versions of the app themselves.
The option will affect only users on Windows devices.
2. Contact support
If you uncheck this box, the Contact support setting will be hidden from the 3-dot menu of the Krisp app for all the team members. They won’t be able to send support requests from inside the app.
The option will affect users both on Windows and Mac devices.
3. Report a problem
If you uncheck this box, the team members won’t be able to report a problem from inside the Krisp app.
The option will affect users both on Windows and Mac devices.
On Windows and Mac:
- the Report a Problem setting will be hidden from the 3-dot menu of the Krisp app for all the team members,
- it won’t be possible to report a problem after the noise cancellation test.
On Windows only:
- it won’t be possible to report a problem if there is an issue with the Voice Cancellation setup.
4. System default enforcement
If you check this box Krisp Microphone will forcefully become the system default device on all the team members' machines. The users won’t be able to change the system default microphone.
Any communication app and web-app on the team members' devices will use the Krisp microphone by default if the app settings have not been altered. To make sure that Krisp Microphone is always used in the apps/web-apps, the team members should select "System default", "Default" or "Same as system" as the microphone in the audio settings of those apps.
The option will affect only users on Windows devices.
5. The Download version
Choose whether your team members should download the Standard or Enterprise Krisp versions.
Standard version: the updates happen more often and contain more features.
Enterprise: the updates happen at a quarterly pace and are optimal for the Enterprise use cases. The versions are being tested and validated in dedicated environments similar to existing Enterprise use cases.
Important
If you plan to switch to the Enterprise version for your team, and mass deploy it, make sure to first uninstall the Standard version from the team members’ devices.
Noise cancellation
There are 3 control options under this section. Let’s see what each of them does.
1. Enforce Microphone noise cancellation toggle state to be Always ON
If you check this box, the Microphone noise cancellation toggle in the Krisp app will always be enabled. The users won’t be able to change the toggle state.
The option will affect only users on Windows devices.
2. Enforce Speaker noise cancellation toggle state to be Always ON/Always OFF
If you want to control the Speaker noise cancellation toggle state, you should check this box and choose one of the options:
- Always ON >>> The Speaker noise cancellation toggle will always be enabled.
- Always OFF >>> The Speaker noise cancellation toggle will always be disabled.
The users won’t be able to change the toggle state if you choose any of the options.
The option will affect only users on Windows devices.
3. Allow users to enable Voice cancellation
If you uncheck this box, the users won’t be able to set up and use Voice cancellation. Check this article for more information about Voice Cancellation.
The option will affect only users on Windows devices.
Security
There is 1 control option under this section.
Enable Session duration
For additional security, you can set a custom limitation on how long your team members stay signed in to the Krisp app and their Krisp account dashboard. This time period is called Session duration and can be controlled from the Security section.
If you check this box and choose one of the options, the users will automatically be logged out from the Krisp app and their Krisp account dashboard after the set period. This control also gives the chance to match the IdP and Krisp app/account dashboard Session duration if you set up SSO/SCIM for your team.
If you uncheck the box, the default Session duration logic works, and the users will automatically be logged out:
- from the Krisp account dashboard after 30 days regardless of their activity,
- from the Krisp app after 30 days of inactivity.
Notification
There is 1 control option under this section.
Welcome email notifications
If you uncheck this box, the new team members who accept your invitation, won’t get welcome emails.
